Handball Team 2019
USAFA Team Handball is a competitive club that plays the sport of Team Handball. Team Handball is a fast-paced, high-scoring, and physical Olympic sport with significant popularity in Europe, North Africa, and Asia. USAFA Team Handball competes across the country at regional and national tournaments to include College Nationals, Open Nationals, and against West Point.
USAFA Team Handball has multiple tournaments across the country in order to compete and prepare for the culminating season tournament of College Nationals. Funds raised through this effort would be utilized to cover travel expenses, registration fees, and hotel rooms for cadets while on trips. Currently, cadets cover many expenses from their own pocket in order to compete. West Point is the historically most successful college club team and their budget vastly exceeds USAFA Team Handball, which allows them to compete more and subsequently be better prepared at College Nationals.
The team's goal is to raise $8,000. On average, taking 12 cadets to a tournament costs approximately $4,000. The annual budget for USAFA Team Handball is capable of fully funding one tournament. $8,000 for the year would fund all anticipated tournaments and avoid cadets utilizing personal funds.
