The fast-paced, high-scoring and adrenaline-pumping sport of team handball at the Air Force Academy needs your support!
With numerous opportunities to compete across the country and represent USAFA at regional and national tournaments, team handball needs assistance to cover travel expenses, registration fees and hotel rooms for cadets.
On average, bringing 12 cadets to a tournament costs approximately $4,000. The project’s goal is to raise $8,000 to help them attend as many tournaments as practical throughout the season. This fall, the team has tournaments in Salt Lake City September 24-25 and Dallas against West Point on November 4. Other possible tournaments include ones in Minneapolis and Chicago in October as well as College Nationals in the spring.
Currently, cadets cover many expenses from their own pocket to compete. Many competitors have larger budgets, which allows them to prepare better for the USA Team Handball College Nationals. Additional funds are needed for USAFA team handball to remain competitive and receive optimal exposure.
Founded in 1978, USAFA Team Handball has a rich tradition of providing cadets an opportunity to grow and compete in a unique sport.
Team handball provides cadets with leadership opportunities while developing skills in an Olympic sport with ties to Colorado Springs. Games and practices serve as an outlet for cadets to have fun and unwind from the rigors of the Academy.
